Find Some Me-Time This Summer | First Volunteer Bank
We are already in July, and before we know it, we will be focusing on back-to-school lists and then quickly transitioning into the fall and the holiday season.
Before those days speed by so fast you can’t believe it, take some time for yourself. After all, in order to perform at our best, we each need time to rest and rejuvenate. We can’t be productive without taking care of ourselves.
That’s why our team at First Volunteer Bank has a few suggestions on seizing that me-time this summer.
It’s Time to Unplug
The first thing you want to do when starting your me-time is to unplug. The world will be OK even if you turn off your phone and computer and just enjoy some time for yourself.
Don’t go on social media. Don’t answer an email. Don’t watch TV.
Instead, just unplug and enjoy some distraction-free time—whether it be taking a relaxing bath, getting a massage and/or reading a book!
Get Your Craft On
Do you always look through magazines or see pictures others post of crafts they have made? Have you always wished that was you?
Well, now with your free time, it can be! Start creating a to-do list for all the items you want to make, whatever they may be. And whenever you have me-time, sit down and enjoy a little crafting time.
Grab Lunch With Yourself
When was the last time you took yourself out on a date? Why not unplug from your phone and enjoy a quiet lunch at your favorite restaurant by yourself? You can escape by just enjoying the meal, or even bringing your favorite book along for entertainment.
Eating alone can be very therapeutic and relaxing. If you have never tried it, give it a shot! You might be surprised how much you really do enjoy the peace and quiet.
